Connect and Grow
The United Church of Christ in Crested Butte, Colorado, is committed to creating opportunities for its members to connect and grow in their faith. The Women’s Annual Luncheon is a once-a-year event where the women of the church come together for a potluck lunch, a white elephant gift exchange, and lots of laughter and fun. The Women’s Book Group is a gathering of women who enjoy reading and discussing books on topics related to spirituality, world religions, women’s issues, and family. The group offers a welcoming and supportive space for members to share their thoughts and grow in their understanding of these topics.
Retreats for men and Women!
The church also organizes men’s and women’s retreats that provide structured time for reflection, spiritual renewal, and fellowship. These retreats are held in beautiful locations such as Blue Mesa Reservoir, Gunnison Gorge, Flaming Gorge, Lake Powell, and nearby Wuanita Hot Springs. In addition, the church hosts a Brown Bag Bible Study led by Rev. Tim Clark, which provides an opportunity for members to study and discuss one book of the Bible at a time. Finally, the church offers new fellowship meals during the summer, providing a chance for members to gather, share a meal, and connect with each other in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” –
– Hebrews 10:25

There’s something for everyone
Women’s Annual Luncheon
Once a year, usually in July, the women of our church gather for a time of connection and fellowship. We try to schedule it when most of our “second homeowners” are in town, because they are a special part of our congregation. The lunch is an abundant potluck and usually includes a raucous white elephant gift exchange!
The Women’s Book Group
Join the Women’s Book Group for diverse book discussions on religion, women’s issues, spirituality, and family. Grow with us and share your ideas as we deepen our understanding of personal beliefs. Experience laughter, fun, and sisterhood with our trusted community.
Men’s and Women’s Retreats
Structured time for reflection, grounding, spiritual renewal and fellowship. Each year we take an overnight men’s overnight retreat and campout to places such as Blue Mesa Reservoir, Gunnison Gorge, Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell. The annual women’s retreat often goes to nearby Wuanita Hot Springs.
Rev. Tim Clark leads a Brown Bag Bible Study on Tuesdays at noon in his office. We study one book of the Bible at a time, reading passages together and discussing our own opinions about how to interpret and apply it to our lives.
Join Fellowship Meals at Union Congregational Church to connect with the community over shared meals! All are welcome – members, non-members, visitors, part-time residents, couples, singles, etc. New groups will be formed every three months.
We work with various organizations who directly help people in need. In years past we have gone on trips to New Orleans, Puerto Rico, Seattle and Guatemala. These trips are meaningful for the communities we serve as well as the youth who come back transformed from the experience.
